What’s cutting big circles in my rose leaves?
The likely culprit is a leafcutter bee, which feed on other shrubs and plants as well. Leafcutter bees don’t live in colonies, but rather, individual female bees build brood chambers for their eggs, using those leaf circles as construction material. The damage is purely cosmetic, and since the bees only cut leaves for a short period, new growth will eventually hide the damaged leaves.

When harvesting your garlic put aside several heads for the cold season.
Yes, I said the cold season.
Did you know .....
Garlic is used to treat sore throats and is an all-natural treatment for respitory problems because of its antibacterial and antivrial properties.
When you feel a cold coming on boil water. When it's boiled add several medium sized garlic cloves to brew a tea.
Simmer your tea for several minutes, putting aside to let it cool enough to drink.
Drink the tea while slightly warm to help soothe your sore throat and to help recovery from respitory infections faster.
Using garlic can help strengthen your immune system. A stronger immune system means your body can fight off underlying causes of sore throats faster. Combine garlic with other immune boosters, like vitamin C, echinacea and red marine algae.
Tips and Warnings
Use an odourless garlic supplement if you are concerned about bad breath. Understand that fresh garlic is more potent. Try using natural remedies to soothe inflamed tissue, over the counter lozenges just numb the throat. Wash hands often, especially during the cold /flu season.
