Hops Vine Harvesting
Hops should be fairly dried out on the vine before harvest. When they are dry, they should feel papery, light and spring back to size before you squeezed them, you should be able to almost squeeze them flat with little resistance. Hops will require additional drying once harvested, and you will need to harvest several times during the fall. Start with the hops at the top of the vine. The fruit here has been exposed to the sun the longest and will be ready first. Each consecutive harvest will be determined by the hops. As the harvesting season continues follow the fruit down the vine until all is picked.

Update from Alan
Weather still holding. Glen and Lynn opened up at ten. Add a layer of sifted manure to bed E7, and then spun a 40' long hay bond to mulch a row of garlic in E3. Laid out bed E6 for planting and planted 200 garlic ‘Tal’. Exactly half the garlic now planted. Locked up 16:30.
