Winter Care for your tools

When you have finished for the season remember when putting away those gardening tools to prep them for storage. Take a few minutes and wash them off with plain water, removing all dirt. Use a file or rasp and sharpen your shovel and spade, use steel wool to remove any rust and rinse with water. Dry completely.
Pruners, loppers and pole pruners should be taken apart and cleaned, sharpened following the angles of the blades, rub them with steel wool and give them a lube with sewing machine oil or WD40. Reassemble and your done!!

Your power tools should be serviced for winterizing. Follow the maintenance instructions that came with mower or other tool.
Lawn mowers at the very least should have stabilizer poured into the gas leftover in the tank. Clean the grass and dirt from the blades and housing and allow to air dry.
