Preparing for the Gardening season

Stretch, stretch, stretch!!!!
Take at least fifteen minutes to stretch your back, shoulders, legs and arms, everything to get those muscles warmed up before you start work in the garden. And yes your first few times out p a c e yourself. Winter is long and messy and your garden is not going to be cleaned up in a day (unless you have a picnic table for a yard)

Make sure you have plenty of fluids, especially on hot days. Did you remember the sunscreen, SPF 15 or higher, applying it often. Wide brimmed hat to help keep the sun off your neck and face and to shade you. Sunglasses to protect your eyes from UV, and safety glasses for those special trimming and pruning jobs. Gloves to protect those hands from scrapes and thorns or nasty surprises in the soil. Appropriate footwear, steel toed work boots are an excellent choice (they make these in running shoe style) These will protect your toes from border forks, shovels and the soles help prevent slips and falls.
Lift with your knees not your back. (Hubby did'nt do this several years ago and he's never been the same)

Day -2 cloudy rain/snow Wind W28km/h P.O.P.50%
Night -8 clearing Wind W22km/h P.O.P.6%
