Update from Alan

The harvest is beginning to swell. Since the last update we’ve delivered 35 kg of potatoes/cucumbers and tomatoes to the Knight’s Table. Total produce delivered since the end of July, just over 200 pounds.
The wood chips for the wedding garden shrub border have arrived and Moeen spent yesterday morning spreading them over the south bed.
The Fall Fair will be in full swing this time next month. The modules for the PTG booth are mostly built and the main banner has been printed. Several people have booked time to staff the display but several more are needed so that nobody has to be at the booth alone.
Just for clarification, when staffing the booth, remember that your purpose is to put a human face on Peel Teaching Garden. Who comes to the classes? People like you!
Talk about things that you know. All staffers have sat through the classes and have spent time in the garden. Talk to people about what you liked, what you learned, why you support the PTG concept and why you come back.
Staffers are not at the booth to answer gardening questions. If you are asked something about gardening and if you happen to know the answer then fine. Otherwise just say that, whatever it is, it’s not your area of expertise but you can answer questions about Peel Teaching Garden.
The ‘Booth Book’ is coming along and several people have suggested questions for inclusion in the FAQ section. By the time the fair opens, our staffers should have a clearer idea of what they supposed to be doing and have better back-up than I’ve had at any of the show booths that I’ve sat in over the years.
