Alan picked me up at 9:30am and we met 4 volunteers at the PTG. Before heading out we collected the xmas trees from the wedding garden, used as cover, and put them in the nursery garden. It is bitterly cold up here today and the work will warm us up. Everyone was eager to get to the donation site and start working. Today, with the resources of one of our students, we had been donated 2/3 of a tonne of 3 year old horse manure. As with all donations everything is gladly accepted.
We arrived to find the mound frozen and inaccessible. Upon further inquiries we discovered that the home is being sold and many things around the property may be available. We collected some hose and a pipe. We sent 3 of the 4 volunteers home with much thanks. Linda, Alan and I headed back to the nursery to drop off the hose and pipe and while there moved some lumber from the back corner to an area more accessible to our needs. We also rescued the patio table from the field and cleaned up some of the plastic bottles that had blown around the garden. The trip was worthwhile if only to get rid of the xmas trees from the nursery garden.
