Today we had our students/volunteers out into the gardens. This will be our last class. Remember your basic tool kit!! You should also have a hat that will hold up to windy sites, sunscreen, water to keep hydrated, sunglasses/safety glasses to protect your eyes and proper footwear (don't wear sandals etc)
We will be preparing beds for the annual planting out coming in late May, early June. Weeding, mulching and watering will be the order of the day. We had 18 students from the 23 of this years class and 7 from previous years joined in the annual clean up. Quite a bit was accomplished. Around 4 pm a large black ominous cloud rolled in and after several cracks of thunder in the close distance, everyone decided to pack up. At PTG when this type of system rolls in there is very little warning and we have absolutely no cover. You are always better to play it safe and pack it in. Approximately 25 minutes later everyone had everything tidied up and cars were pulling away. Alan and I were the last to leave after surveying everyones handy work. A job well done.
