Alan and I went to the garden at 9am. Collected buckets, benches, forks and annuals from the nursery and started to work on clearing weeds from the elliptical bed at the sign garden. After unloading the van John arrived and we cleared the bed in no time. Alan and John loaded the trailer with buckets of concrete sand and brought them back to cover one of the elliptical beds that needed topping up.(didn't get enough sand on it the previous year)
Alan and John headed off to the put sand on some of the building garden beds and I started to plant dusty miller in spots that needed replacements or new ones and was just finishing up the first bed when Moeen arrived. While planting in the V garden, Phyllis popped by to see what was happening and give us an update on the Wedding Garden. She is always looking for weeding help. She had been over there working for a bit and now it was time to head home. After we said our goodbyes Moeen and I completed planting the other elliptical and the V garden.
Alan arrived with Kelly in tow carrying flats of marigolds. After Kelly got a lesson in planting we all started the task and finished by 11:45am.
We tidied up and loaded up the van. Headed to the nursery where everything was emptied. Checked on the peony beds and pulled a few weeds.
Alan gave Kelly another lesson on something with one or two of the beds in Block B. Alan and I then headed home for lunch 12:00. Alan will go back this afternoon.
