The class was all abuzz with people talking about the different aspects of what was taught in class, and several times Alan had to wait or interrupt conversations.
Do you know what the definition of an annual, biennial and perennial is? Do you know that nature does all the different types of propagation? Growing from seed is cost effective and gives you a head start on your garden. Cuttings taken from the herbaceous plants (softwood) can increase your supplies.
Lawn maintenance can be done by yourself. Mow the lawn on the highest setting to keep your lawn from browning, leave clippings on the lawn and water once a week to the equivelant of 1". Did you know that grass grows from the bottom up.
Can you tell the difference between a tree and a shrub. What holds up a tree? What is the proper way to prune a tree?
Alan showed samples of wood with southwest cracking, good and bad branch joints, what a branch looks like from the inside after a good trim and a bad trim.
